KILLORGLIN

I have just started some work on a project that has interested me for years. I have always love the idea of the streets of Killorglin and representing them in various paintings. I lived away for years in London, I would come home regularly but no matter how often I came home and would drive up through the town I would always be looking for and always notice something had changed. I am sure this is true of any little Irish town. It was that feeling of change at home that I found comforting. Everything is evolving and changing. So the other day I started to sketch and add some watercolour to my first pub front, Falveys. (Image below) This is the beginning of this project and I will move onto oils soon enough but working with watercolours gives me a different freedom to work quickly and also to work in a smaller space! RL
