2020 is here and I am starting to make the plans for the year, I had hoped to get an exhibition together in 2019 but with starting out a new business on my own it was all down to timing that this didn't happen. I started an Art Residency with Castlemaine National School this year, I have been working on a 'Be Kind' Mural Project with children from 1st, 2nd & 3rd class. This is a series based on the beautiful boats at Ross Castle, I have always loved these and have taken so many photos on my phone over the years. This is a collaboration of all of those images. Some of my new work will now be on display at the Holiday  Inn Killarney on the Muckross Road. They have offered me the lovely space in their hotel lobby to display and sell some of my work. As it is in Killarney, it was only right to focus on a few interesting shop, hostel & pub fronts! One of my visual obsessions has always been graffiti, having lived in London for a while you get very used to seeing it every day! My love for graffiti goes beyond the visual, I have the utmost respect for people that can do it, whether it be a persons signature tag or something more along the lines of an intricate mural. While having had an inspiring time away in Asia recently I have found myself to have had an influx of new ideas with many different avenues. Place and a sense of nostalgia have been a focal point in my work for a number of years and this hasn't changed. some of the newer work I am doing at the moment will be based around these very same themes and ideas in a number of differing mediums. On my recent travels around South East Asia I found some incredible inspiration when it comes to architecture and surroundings. The first stop was to Hong Hong, then onto Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and a brief stop in Bangkok. On Sunday 11th of November I will be setting up for my second Market in the Laurels Hall in Killarney. I have just started some work on a project that has interested me for years. I have always love the idea of the streets of Killorglin and representing them in various paintings. I lived away for years in London, I would come home regularly but no matter how often I came home and would drive up through the town I would always be looking for and always notice something had changed. Puck Fair Pop Up Shop My first little craft shop was for the local festival of Puck Fair. A very interesting experience. There are people from all walks of life walking through the festival so it was a great way to get a variety of people talking about some of the work. I have maybe always secretly loved the colour pink.
